What Is A Simple Life?

I had to come and change my about page recently.

I had this idea in my head that A Simple Life was the radical, “off grid,” make it all yourself, complete removal from the world kind of blog and lifestyle. However, it turns out that doing all that wasn’t so simple after all!

Jesus told us to be in the world, but not of the world. If you purchase your laundry soap instead of making it yourself, because it isn’t worth the $5 a month savings for the mess and hassle, then this is part of your simpler life. If having a cell phone allows you to get done what needs to be done in an efficient manner and you aren’t “addicted” to it, then it may actually be part of a simple life for you. If you to take a vacation to be refreshed, but not to escape, then again this may help simplify your life.

For me, a Simple Life is what Jesus shows me to do, so that I can serve Him better and become more of the person He knows I can be.

  1. Hello!

My name is Brooklyn Bagwell and I am the Casting Director for TLC’s hit show Extreme Cheapskates. We’re seeking extremely frugal people that find cheaper alternative ways to live their lives. I was looking through your blog and I think you would be perfect for the show.

We’re also hoping to teach our viewers how to save money in the easiest way. I truly believe that your knowledge and advice would be great for Season 3. Plus its a great way to promote your blog! I would love to speak with you more about this opportunity!

I look forward to hearing from you!

  2. Just wanted to pop in and say hello and thank you for taking the time to read my post about unemployment over on MoneySavingMom. Glad to have found your blog!

    • We might be facing unemployment again, so this was on my heart. Unfortunately, my husband doesn’t agree with my frugal ways, so we don’t have any savings or, well anything. So, God is ALL we have right now.
